Leaving your child at a
preschool for the day can sometimes be more stressful for
the parents than the child! To help make the transition
easier for all involved, we’ve put together a smattering of
helpful hints.
On those first few days:
Separation
anxiety maybe immediate or it may be delayed. Very
often a child will be so engrossed in the
new surroundings that there will be no
difficulty leaving at all. In short, expect the unexpected.
If your child cries when you leave,
reassure him/her of your love ; tell when you’ll be back;
give that extra hug and kiss, THEN GO.
Usually the tears stop shortly after the parent leaves.
To ease your mind, call any time during the day.
What to bring:
Have an adequate supply of disposable diapers,
sanitary wipes, powder, ointment, etc.
Creative Kids will charge $10.00/day each
time the center has to supply diapers, etc.
Have an extra change of clothes - right down to
socks to leave at school.
Put your child’s name on everything. Clothing can
easily be confused.
A “Brown Bag” lunch that follows a nutritional plan.
Creative Kids will provide juice or milk.
Parent Information and communication:
News letters are distributed the first week of each
month. Please read it to keep up to events.
Check your child’s folder each day for things to take
home.
There is a bulletin board specifically for parents in
your child’s room relating to current themes and
upcoming events.
Be sure to check for any field trip permission
sign-ups posted in each room which will give any
pertinent information about school outings.
